THE ESSENCE OF WORSHIP

I wrote this a few years back: simple message yet so very true!

THE ESSENCE OF WORSHIP

6.21.07
FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH HIS DAUGHTER DANEILLE SNOWDEN

Somehow, we have lost the essence of worship. It’s like eating with no smell or flavor. It’s going through the motions without realizing the power, the love and Presence of God longing to enter in.
The true essence of worship is non-existence in families even for those who do have a time in the Word and song. Why is that? Because of having the patience, endurance and heart to wait upon the Lord. Thus, children and even adults will not truly experience what God has longed for them: true fellowship with His children. If children do push on with their walk with the Lord they may experience this periodically at church or small prayer groups within the church means.
This brings us to not just who, but how often as well…how often do we feel and hear and smell and yes even see the Presence of our Lord? This is vital on an individual basis as well as a couple or family.
When we are in the presence of our Lord, the world will indeed see it: His Glory radiating upon our countenance. Yes, our countenance (our attitudes and reactions will be so different) will be changed. Moses was changed for life; he found his purpose and yes even his weakness; but with that God was revealed in His Glory in Mighty deeds. Today we can radiate the true love of Jesus to others (especially our children) in revealing His mercy, grace and power.
Taking that time to push through into the deep, deep, Presence of our God will increase our days not decrease. We will accomplish more for Him and in so doing for others as well. We have lost the true focus God intended for us as His children as well as our families.
What the Lord wants is our hearts, He literally wants to unite (sew) our hearts together with His. How can we, if we do not enter in and come close to Him? When we are sown together with Christ, then the essence of worship will come to a fruition and the Spirit will grow into ‘the perfect will of God,’ mirroring the character of Christ.
“Oh, Jesus, forgive me, forgive us as a family that our needs, our flesh has ruled the time we say we spend with You. That we do not let You have complete rule and reign like we say You do. Now Lord, make that difference: we/I wait upon You. I want to be with You, I want to feel You…oh I want all of You my Lord and King!”

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                       ...

BRINGING PEACE TO YOUR HUSBAND

Two posts (blogs) ago I said I would continue to look at attaining true peace in our lives. [Sweet Tranquility] Then I promised you that I would continue to expound on having this peace spread through out our home beginning with ‘we’ ladies being the vessel of peace for our husbands.  As I have prayed over this, studied it in God’s Word and in other resources for quite awhile…my ending prognosis is that this study could continue for decades! Peace ; we pray for peace, it's our New Years Resolutions ...it is a salutation in most countries. Yet, everywhere we turn we only observe fruits of turmoil (opposite of peace).  In three thousand  three hundred and fifty years between 1500 B.C. and 1850 A.D. there were only 286 years spent without a war taking place on the globe somewhere. That's thirteen years of war for every year of peace. At that same period of time eight thousand peace treaties were broken.  Today;  2 million coup...

Living the Dream

I have probably one of the most 'spiritual' face book home pages around. My friends post scriptural banners, quotes, prayer requests & praises . I usually get a great up-lift reading my face book. Recently, it seemed many were writing about 'Dreams'. One really jumped out; basically they were challenging the thought (I believe fact) dreams are every day; what we are experiencing today, which is our family, friends, experiences, work, ministry and prayer times. I have always been a dreamer since I was a little girl. When I was little I loved the Walton's-needless to  say my dream then (get this now): was to be a writer, movie star, have 7 kids and live in a big house in the country. Uh huh...yup; unrealistic; but I sure loved the Walton's. Then, when I turned 12 yrs. old at church camp the Lord called me into the Mission Field. When I turned 14 yrs. old, the Lord gave me a heart for India; and was blessed with the opportunity of going there as well. ...
