  1. FROM MY SISTER-N-LAW
(a precious woman of God, teacher, harpist & friend)
Pretty much for me I am focusing on Colossians 3:1-17__purposing to focus on Christ and not me. What do people see in me? I didn't actually purposefully make a list of resolutions this year. I just am trying to put Him first in all things and trust Him daily. Don't mean for this to sound super spiritual__I just usually fail at keeping specific resolutions anyway. I bite off more than I can chew. So, this seems more manageable and achievable to me. :)

  2. I decided that instead of New Years resolutions this year, I would make promises to God. (They are harder to break).
    1. Read through the Bible this year
    2. Move out of this apartment
    3. Get out of unnecessary debt
    4. Lose 100 pounds
    5. Pray more, hate less.
    6. Finish my cookbook
    7. Be more faithful with giving.

As for my family, I pray that all 4 kids and 2 son in laws will draw closer to God and find a REAL relationship with Him.

  3. I have not fully honed in on all my goals or family goals for 2011. I do know as I pray I sense the Lord saying to make the most of my days and time because the days are evil. I have also been considering how I spend my time. Facebook has been a big issue for me. It is great because there are so many people that I keep in touch with, but then if it takes too much of the precious little time I feel that I get with my family then it is a problem. So I have made one goal for the year that during the week no more than 15 minutes on Facebook on any given day. Then on the weekends no more than 30 minutes. If I can not follow these self inflicted guidelines then I will take down my FB page.

I will let you know when I hone in on the rest of the changes.

  4. They say goals should be measurable so that is what I try to shoot for but some of mine only the Lord will know. 2011 goals: Read through the whole Bible. Get to 150lbs. Do a 5K at 40 minutes. Get rid of $3600 in debt without adding more to it. Get a temporary job in San Diego for next winter. Surprise my husband once a month with something new. Tell my kids I love them every day. How's that?

  5. A few of my goals:
    1. Lose 50 pounds. Yikes!
    2. Organize my house. Pulling out the label maker!
    3. Do something fun with my husband every week.

I also have some other goals that are secret for now . :-)

  6. I have decided to not get mad over silly things...(I mean like a long line, a crazy driver, my internet isn't working, someone say a dumb comment about something I care about, you get it), I want to laugh more, love more, I want to of course reach the lost, but I want to bring back my FIRE for Jesus' love for me, as Jentezen Franklin said "I want to be as on fire for my GOD, as the world is for their god (drinking, money, sports...)" Nobody ever has to beg a sports junkie to "praise" their team! Get back in shape/lose weight through learning to make my spirit in control rather than my flesh!

    1. Spend more time daily in the Word and in prayer.
    2. Work on relationships in all areas of my life.

Next, but not nearly as important,
4 Learn how to make better bread from scratch.
    5. Learn a skill ( like sewing)
    6. Plant a garden and build a chicken coop

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                                             MINI GIFTS WRAPPED IN A HANKIE Pocket knife, Voice of the Martyrs Pendant  & candy! Al

LET US TRUST THE PROCESS OF PRUNING

Did you ever read this verse in John 15:2 and think, "that's extreme, can't we just hold onto these extra branches that grew once and bore amazing, fruit?" I have definitely !   Then life happens! In that life, we make a decision to dig deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Yet, as we do, we face obstacles (or that's what we called them) that challenged us to trust Jesus to do what He wills in our lives.  I believe this place is a milestone in the timeline of our lives. Will we continue to walk ever so close to the Lord, realizing as we do, He will prune us? Will we desire to be producers of His fruit and life flow through us? Many of us realize that this means more obstacles, cuts, bleeding, times of dormancy and simple hurt.  This is when the milestone comes; will we accept this pruning and be fruitful or just become branches that become brittle, and ragged?  A lot of questions to ponder, but I feel God wants to use each and everyone of His children in o

Thank You For Asking

(c)Daneille Gray Snowden 2022 Today, I was deeply touched in my heart when a dear friend asked how my husband was. I did not mention it first, out of the blue; she asked about something dear to my heart. This wasn't the first time as she has  asked about different matters in my life several times. May I tell you how that made me feel? It made me feel cared for, loved and set back how someone cares intensely about me and my life. How often do you personally experience such care and interest from others? And, as I ask myself this too; how often do we reach out and ask others how they are? When people as a whole reach out in such a way, we see the creation power of God as hearts are connected to one another and a strong foundation is beginning to be built for a lasting relationship.  I love it when I hear conversations in church  or in my home when I  listen to their questions of wanting to learn of others situations, experiences, needs and even joys. The questioner is totally focused
