COMPELLED BY ETERNITY

Realizing it's been quite awhile since I have been able to post an article. The Lord stirred in my heart to share this Word He gave me a few years ago to preach. I would have to say that this is how I live...knowing that there is indeed an eternity for us all. My passion is to be a vessel to help guide the way for all to live in eternity with the King of Kings! ---Enjoy!

INTRO: When I think of eternity; my mind goes to an acronym the Lord gave me several years ago: H.O.P.E.= Having One Purpose for the Eternal.
That is how we as pastors are driven; we look at every opportunity as an open door for a soul to have eternal life.
How are you driven today? What makes you tick? Have we lost our hope? The true hope God intended us to have…in living for Him brings a joy for the eternal minded!
I.) There Are Conditions to receive Eternal life
A.) Mind of People today
1.) If you are a good person and even attended church
2.) Will spend eternity in heaven
B.) Live anyway you want to live/in addition not have true fellowship and devotion to Jesus.
1.) When that trumpet sounds, He is coming for a spotless bride: those He knows
2.) Living for Him absent from the things that are in the world (that are unholy)
Luke 18:28 “Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, 30Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.”
C.) We must simply believe:
1.) John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
2.) 1 John 5:12,13 “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”All we have to do is believe, yet so many chose not to and they will not have the splendid experience in eternity with Christ.
D.) Accept Jesus Christ as Lord of your life
John 5:24II.) Type of Eternity to Live “ETERNITY IS EITHER IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD OR SATAN…A PLACE OF PUNISHMENT”
A.) Heaven
1.) 2 Corinthians 5:1 “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we
have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
v.8
2.) Heaven: is the dwelling place of God and the eternal joyful abode of the blessed dead, a spiritual state of everlasting communion with God, a place or condition of utmost happiness...
B.) Hell
1.) the abode of Satan and the forces of evil; where sinners suffer eternal punishment
2.) 2 Thessalonians 1:5-9 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”
III.) In this we are COMPELLED FOR ETERNITYA.) Compel: to exert a strong, irresistible force.
1.) What makes you tick? How about eternity? For us yes, but more so for others.
2.) the days are short and very temporal.
*Nights I go to bed at night wandering how my life has affected eternity for the Glory of God.
3.) Let’s look at:
IICor.4:13-18
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 14Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
B.) v.13,14 Tells us the reason we can ‘go-on’
1.) Our own personal promise that this life will soon be over and we are promised eternity with our Lord Jesus
C.) We only have so much time!
1.) Some of us have longer than others
2.) or our neighbors and friends may be taken right now
3.) ILL.: At the nursing home: one of my patients
GRAB EVERY DAY AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE ETERNITY FOR EVERYONE YOU MEET! WE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO EACH ONE!D.) We are God’s Plan
1.) So many times we here in churches; “oh, if God would send a young godly family in with many talents and lots of money then the church could grow.”
2.) Nope! God sent us…He created US…He planned out our lives to Seize God’s Opportunity for souls!
3.) No matter how big or small the opportunity:
Matthew 10:42 “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”
Matthew 25:40
E.) The obstacles are temporary (v.16-18)
1.) Paul was motivated to keep going on;
A.) even though he faced the struggles & trials
B.) Remind you what his was: affliction, burden, persecution
2.) The struggles will come and continue to come and more so in these last days.
3.) the devils objective: SLOW US ALL DOWN
4.) I want to encourage you…though the trials come: DON’T LET THEM STOP YOU FROM WORKING FOR THE LORD AND DOING WHAT HE HAS CALLED YOU TO DO.
A.) Yes, it’s hard…
B.) Keep the H.O.P.E. (the purpose for eternity)
See everyone you meet in heaven with you, and do what you must to get them there!
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                                             MINI GIFTS WRAPPED IN A HANKIE Pocket knife, Voice of the Martyrs Pendant  & candy! Al

LET US TRUST THE PROCESS OF PRUNING

Did you ever read this verse in John 15:2 and think, "that's extreme, can't we just hold onto these extra branches that grew once and bore amazing, fruit?" I have definitely !   Then life happens! In that life, we make a decision to dig deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Yet, as we do, we face obstacles (or that's what we called them) that challenged us to trust Jesus to do what He wills in our lives.  I believe this place is a milestone in the timeline of our lives. Will we continue to walk ever so close to the Lord, realizing as we do, He will prune us? Will we desire to be producers of His fruit and life flow through us? Many of us realize that this means more obstacles, cuts, bleeding, times of dormancy and simple hurt.  This is when the milestone comes; will we accept this pruning and be fruitful or just become branches that become brittle, and ragged?  A lot of questions to ponder, but I feel God wants to use each and everyone of His children in o

Thank You For Asking

(c)Daneille Gray Snowden 2022 Today, I was deeply touched in my heart when a dear friend asked how my husband was. I did not mention it first, out of the blue; she asked about something dear to my heart. This wasn't the first time as she has  asked about different matters in my life several times. May I tell you how that made me feel? It made me feel cared for, loved and set back how someone cares intensely about me and my life. How often do you personally experience such care and interest from others? And, as I ask myself this too; how often do we reach out and ask others how they are? When people as a whole reach out in such a way, we see the creation power of God as hearts are connected to one another and a strong foundation is beginning to be built for a lasting relationship.  I love it when I hear conversations in church  or in my home when I  listen to their questions of wanting to learn of others situations, experiences, needs and even joys. The questioner is totally focused
