LIFE IS A JOURNEY

LIFE IS A JOURNEY
Our family journey's on the Blue
Ridge Parkway are so
memorable. A true high-
light of my life.
Now, another destination is
directly under our feet as we
take ONE step at a time! With
our eyes on our loving Lord,
Jesus Christ!

Pondering Thought From Daneille:

I saw a quote today...really is so true, yet it seems like we won't be happy until we think we can get to where we want to be. Here's the quote:
"Life is a journey, not a destination."  My father always said; "Minister to that person right in front of you." My mama quoted the slogan; "Bloom where you are planted." There is a destination that is called eternity...for me that will be in Heaven with my Lord. But, for now I will enjoy this journey no matter how steep or narrow the path; this is a true and fulfilled life.

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your
own understandings, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will
direct your steps."

  1. "Often, Christians think that if Jesus Christ compels them to do something, He will lead them to success in the endeavor, if only they are obedient to Him. If you agree, then you are in for a rude awakening; our dreams of success are not God's ultimate purpose for us. The question of whether or not we arrive at a particular goal is not of primary importance. What we see as only the process of reaching a particular end, God often sees as the goal itself.

If I can stay calm, faithful and unconfused while in the middle of the turmoil of life, the goal of the purpose of God is being accomplished in me. God is not working toward a particular finish-- His purpose is the process itself.

God's purpose is to enable me to see that He can walk on the storms of my life right now. If we have a further goal in mind, we are not paying enough attention to the present. However, if we realize that moment-by-moment obedience and trust are the goal, then each moment as it comes becomes the real standard of success."

  2. Life is a journey. Don't fight it. Just live it for the Glory of God.

  3. I'm often too focused on either the past or the future to enjoy the present. How pitiful. Lord, help me with this weakness!

    1. Amen Chuck! For far too long I have longed for a better future. Find myself weeping over the past (especially as my children grow up). It is the journey. It is who is next to us, in front of us and all around that matter today.
I know it is important to be organized, but so concerned that I organize God's leading out. Such a fine line, this comes by much time in His Presence. KNOWING HIM!
Isn't it wonderful to be a child of God!

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                                             MINI GIFTS WRAPPED IN A HANKIE Pocket knife, Voice of the Martyrs Pendant  & candy! Al

BRINGING PEACE TO YOUR HUSBAND

Two posts (blogs) ago I said I would continue to look at attaining true peace in our lives. [Sweet Tranquility] Then I promised you that I would continue to expound on having this peace spread through out our home beginning with ‘we’ ladies being the vessel of peace for our husbands.  As I have prayed over this, studied it in God’s Word and in other resources for quite awhile…my ending prognosis is that this study could continue for decades! Peace ; we pray for peace, it's our New Years Resolutions ...it is a salutation in most countries. Yet, everywhere we turn we only observe fruits of turmoil (opposite of peace).  In three thousand  three hundred and fifty years between 1500 B.C. and 1850 A.D. there were only 286 years spent without a war taking place on the globe somewhere. That's thirteen years of war for every year of peace. At that same period of time eight thousand peace treaties were broken.  Today;  2 million couples have used a lethal weapon on their spouses

Living the Dream

I have probably one of the most 'spiritual' face book home pages around. My friends post scriptural banners, quotes, prayer requests & praises . I usually get a great up-lift reading my face book. Recently, it seemed many were writing about 'Dreams'. One really jumped out; basically they were challenging the thought (I believe fact) dreams are every day; what we are experiencing today, which is our family, friends, experiences, work, ministry and prayer times. I have always been a dreamer since I was a little girl. When I was little I loved the Walton's-needless to  say my dream then (get this now): was to be a writer, movie star, have 7 kids and live in a big house in the country. Uh huh...yup; unrealistic; but I sure loved the Walton's. Then, when I turned 12 yrs. old at church camp the Lord called me into the Mission Field. When I turned 14 yrs. old, the Lord gave me a heart for India; and was blessed with the opportunity of going there as well.
