  IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS

    I have counselled and held some conversations just within this past week with people who are really 'STRESSED' and presently seeing their lives in chaos. Some are committed servants in God's Kingdom, working hard daily serving Him full time. Other's are parents, and grandparents that never dreamed of life being so crazy! None have stated that they were enjoying themselves either. No, quite the contrary; they are being stretched and beginning to break. 
 I have been there, you have too and likely-we will be possibly again. We live in a world full of evil, with people unknowingly (mostly) serving this evil too. Without any firm foundation; the buildings will crumble. 
I Corinthians 3:11 - "For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
   Chaos means a total lack of order. Lack means nothing, zero, just plain ole' empty! When Jesus died on the cross, breaking down all barriers between man and God; God designed it that our omnipresent, Triune Godhead can fill our lives completely. Thus, when we invite Jesus to come and live within our hearts, there is NO LACK. Chaos within is impossible!
   Yet, things happen don't they? Out of nowhere (seemingly) sickness comes, including; pain, financial struggles and people hurting us and or our loved ones in various ways. This reminds me of an innocent group of men, faithfully following Jesus. As they were out in the boat, a dark and violent storm over took them. These storms had the reputation of destroying fishing boats and drowning those within. Thus, these men were doing all they could to stay afloat and ALIVE! Then...look who they see coming towards them; Jesus, the one who fills a soul in the midst of any and all storms and brings great peace. For a moment, even when Peter was walking toward the Lord on the water I might add; He was overcome by focusing on the storm itself. Yet, our Lord's Hand was right there to bring Peter strait out, back to safety, and commanding the storm saying: "Peace be still!" 
    Please let me encourage you, regardless of the pain you are in; i.e. the chaos you are facing; Jesus does bring Peace by calming the storm. First, the calming will begin in you. It must, for as we SEEK Him, (thus we SEE Him) then we begin to KNOW Him. Developing a deep confidence that All Is Well (a constant quote I have heard most of my life from my Preacher Dad). After that, we will see the storm quiet down and find ourselves once again back on the shore again.

    Amen. A good song by Scott Krippayne is Sometimes He Calms the Storm, and Sometimes He Calms His Child.

LET US TRUST THE PROCESS OF PRUNING

Did you ever read this verse in John 15:2 and think, "that's extreme, can't we just hold onto these extra branches that grew once and bore amazing, fruit?" I have definitely !   Then life happens! In that life, we make a decision to dig deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Yet, as we do, we face obstacles (or that's what we called them) that challenged us to trust Jesus to do what He wills in our lives.  I believe this place is a milestone in the timeline of our lives. Will we continue to walk ever so close to the Lord, realizing as we do, He will prune us? Will we desire to be producers of His fruit and life flow through us? Many of us realize that this means more obstacles, cuts, bleeding, times of dormancy and simple hurt.  This is when the milestone comes; will we accept this pruning and be fruitful or just become branches that become brittle, and ragged?  A lot of questions to ponder, but I feel God wants to use each and everyone of His children in o

Thank You For Asking

I did not mention it first, out of the blue; she asked about something dear to my heart. This wasn't the first time as she has  asked about different matters in my life several times. May I tell you how that made me feel? It made me feel cared for, loved and set back how someone cares intensely about me and my life. How often do you personally experience such care and interest from others? And, as I ask myself this too; how often do we reach out and ask others how they are? When people as a whole reach out in such a way, we see the creation power of God as hearts are connected to one another and a strong foundation is beginning to be built for a lasting relationship.  I love it when I hear conversations in church  or in my home when I  listen to their questions of wanting to learn of others situations, experiences, needs and even joys.
