LOVE IS OF GOD

If you are like me, you melt at true love stories. I know I do; and my
favorite on the romantic side is my own love story; meeting and falling in love with the man of my dreams. We met after after he came back from serving his country in Europe and I after I graduated college. We both heard about an inner city ministry to children and that is where our hearts collided. Before that, I had come to the conclusion I would never marry but serve my Lord totally devoting 100% of myself to God's Work. Then, I met Brad. Now, I serve Him with 200% of my life.

Friday is a day here in America when we like to celebrate 'Love'; mostly to the individual we are married to or shall I say 'romantically involved with'. Quite frankly though, I honestly believe this world has no idea where LOVE came from. As a Creationist, I do believe man was created in the image of God; that IN THE BEGINNING GOD CREATED...  Thus, I also believe God sent His Love to man for;
LOVE IS OF GOD!
Love exists because God is the creator of all things. Read verse seven: We can love one another because; LOVE IS FROM GOD.

1 John 4:7-10

7 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

If you presently are finding it difficult to LOVE your spouse, I suggest that,  maybe it's because the Love you are digging for is not love; but just an emotion. You see God's Love; comes from Him...He gave us that Love through His Son Jesus when He "...so LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son."
So many want to separate this from our romantic LOVE between our spouses, or if you are engaged...etc. But, if you long for a solid foundation; a love between you both, being filled with a confidence that your marriage will last through the all the trials of life...this is the LOVE that conquers all!
The latter part of verse 7 says: All that LOVETH (let me say this is regarding to the LOVE that comes from God) is born of God. If you ever talk with people before they surrendered their lives to Christ; they will testify that when they look back,  before Christ; their lives were empty. But, when Jesus filled their hearts with His Life and Love, their lives were so full that their hearts in turn became a waterfall spilling out God's goodness, love and hope to all. I personally have seen marriages getting ready to completely fall apart, then miraculously; a spouse will surrender their lives to Jesus. Then they in turn selflessly love their spouse, who usually will come to Christ as well!
But, we must always remember, as a couple and a family; that we must continually strive to KNOW GOD more. We see this in the last part of verse seven; to not only be born of God and yet, as well: know Him! What is cool, is that the term KNOW is an intimate word. It means to come into. Daily my friends, we must come into God's Presence, delve into His Word...in that we come to know Him more and more. Where His thoughts become ours, His Ways are our ways. In that how can our life go down the wrong paths? With God's Love, our marriages will be solid and give out a pleasant aroma of God's sweet spirit in our lives.

The question is, "Is this what we want?" So many feel they can separate their Christianity from their relationships. In the mentality of many in this world, we see that we save this for Sundays. But, God created LIFE; He created us to live a life full of Him. And for those of us who care about the souls of others; we want this. We want more of Him; so we can touch many with His love and see lives transformed from death to life.
Please take this short devotional to heart. If your marriage is strained; consider how much of your LOVE for your spouse is OF GOD. Turn to Jesus; ask Him to be the Lord of your life and for Him to flow out to others.
Happy 'TRUE LOVE OF GOD DAY'  to you!

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                                             MINI GIFTS WRAPPED IN A HANKIE Pocket knife, Voice of the Martyrs Pendant  & candy! Al

LET US TRUST THE PROCESS OF PRUNING

Did you ever read this verse in John 15:2 and think, "that's extreme, can't we just hold onto these extra branches that grew once and bore amazing, fruit?" I have definitely !   Then life happens! In that life, we make a decision to dig deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Yet, as we do, we face obstacles (or that's what we called them) that challenged us to trust Jesus to do what He wills in our lives.  I believe this place is a milestone in the timeline of our lives. Will we continue to walk ever so close to the Lord, realizing as we do, He will prune us? Will we desire to be producers of His fruit and life flow through us? Many of us realize that this means more obstacles, cuts, bleeding, times of dormancy and simple hurt.  This is when the milestone comes; will we accept this pruning and be fruitful or just become branches that become brittle, and ragged?  A lot of questions to ponder, but I feel God wants to use each and everyone of His children in o

Thank You For Asking

(c)Daneille Gray Snowden 2022 Today, I was deeply touched in my heart when a dear friend asked how my husband was. I did not mention it first, out of the blue; she asked about something dear to my heart. This wasn't the first time as she has  asked about different matters in my life several times. May I tell you how that made me feel? It made me feel cared for, loved and set back how someone cares intensely about me and my life. How often do you personally experience such care and interest from others? And, as I ask myself this too; how often do we reach out and ask others how they are? When people as a whole reach out in such a way, we see the creation power of God as hearts are connected to one another and a strong foundation is beginning to be built for a lasting relationship.  I love it when I hear conversations in church  or in my home when I  listen to their questions of wanting to learn of others situations, experiences, needs and even joys. The questioner is totally focused
