SHARPENED BY HIS WORD!
     From: Daneille Gray Snowden

I keep a notebook for my morning devotions. I use to do it all the time; then the past few years I just stopped. God has answered one of my many prayers (recently); which is to only grow hungrier for Him. Thus, the notebook; it amazes me how each day is like a special surprise my Father has for me as I climb up in His Lap to hear what all He has to say! I so enjoy getting up in the mornings for this very thing.

With my coffee and breakfast at my side; I pick up a devotionals and Bible; my 2 steady devotional books are: God Calling & My Utmost For His Highest, and maybe once every couple months I will read, Come Away My Beloved. Lately, I have my phone by my side and I use it for word studies (in the Greek & Hebrew), topic studies, and historical background study from a passage of scripture and such. Then comes out my notebook and I write away. God takes me deeper and deeper as I examine each passage.

His Word is truly life! [Heb. 4:12] I breath deeper when I read (and study) God's Word. My mind becomes clearer and my heart is FULL of peace as well. I feel creativity pumping in, and vision (seeing God's purpose for my day). Ya know, I feel a confidence that stems from feasting on the Meat of the inspired Words of my God!

I have heard a lot lately of my God's Word being twisted to fit individuals chosen lives; no matter what they may be. As I was doing scripture memory with my teenage daughter; trying to impress in her the vital importance of getting the true meaning of God's Word firmly pressed in her mind and heart... [Sometimes (as we all have done) she will get a word wrong, or put them in the wrong places.] I told her, "Would you like it if someone misquoted you, and it changed up everything you had said?" Of course her answer is like any of ours would be; "No, not at all!" I am sure God feels the same as He spoke through John in Revelations 22:18 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:" He's quite serious about this, wouldn't you say? YET...
some adhere to  certain sins cause they only believe all what Jesus said directly in the New Testament. Ignorance, and if not ignorance; then it's just rebellion  adhering to this twisted adherence of theology. We serve a Triune  God; which means unity (3 in one). Thus, the Holy Spirit (which is part of the triune Godhead) breathed into (inspired) all who were ordained to write the scriptures we read today, in the Old & New Testament. Jesus says in Lu. 15 that apart from Christ; man is cut off from God; thus we MUST embrace the entirety of the Word of God.
---------------------
The Word of God is given (BY INSPIRATION) for 4 different reasons: [2Tim. 3:16]
1.) Doctrineparticular principle taught / Greek- didaché: established teaching
2.) Reproof: the act of rebuking / Greek- elegxis:  brand of conviction that rebukes sin
3.) Correctionproposed for what is wrong or inaccurate / Greek- kolasis: chastisement, punishment
4.) Instruction: knowledge or information imparted / Greek- didaskalia: teaching  extends to its necessary lifestyle
- Read the Amplified Version (uses the original language): "All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage];"

My minds eye goes back to Deut. 6 where parents are instructed to teach (the Law) to their children...in the Epistles the Holy Spirit uses the words: "Train up a child in the way he should go." God is our Father, He is training, we His children- so we may grow and mature becoming SHARPENED INSTRUMENTS; being used for the betterment of others and defeating our enemies.

We live in a very dark world, one filled with total ignorance what is in Bible. The weak part of man has become his ruler...led only by slothfulness, lust, greed and self gratification. If the church of Jesus Christ would pray for MORE OF HIM, He will draw us in! How, by leading us in His Word to places He knows we need for each moment in our lives.

Encourage others to study God's Word, share with your loved ones what all He is showing you as you study deeply in the Bible. Be a LIGHTHOUSE, shining out the Light of Hope stemmed by spending time with your Heavenly Father.

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                       ...

BRINGING PEACE TO YOUR HUSBAND

Two posts (blogs) ago I said I would continue to look at attaining true peace in our lives. [Sweet Tranquility] Then I promised you that I would continue to expound on having this peace spread through out our home beginning with ‘we’ ladies being the vessel of peace for our husbands.  As I have prayed over this, studied it in God’s Word and in other resources for quite awhile…my ending prognosis is that this study could continue for decades! Peace ; we pray for peace, it's our New Years Resolutions ...it is a salutation in most countries. Yet, everywhere we turn we only observe fruits of turmoil (opposite of peace).  In three thousand  three hundred and fifty years between 1500 B.C. and 1850 A.D. there were only 286 years spent without a war taking place on the globe somewhere. That's thirteen years of war for every year of peace. At that same period of time eight thousand peace treaties were broken.  Today;  2 million coup...

Living the Dream

I have probably one of the most 'spiritual' face book home pages around. My friends post scriptural banners, quotes, prayer requests & praises . I usually get a great up-lift reading my face book. Recently, it seemed many were writing about 'Dreams'. One really jumped out; basically they were challenging the thought (I believe fact) dreams are every day; what we are experiencing today, which is our family, friends, experiences, work, ministry and prayer times. I have always been a dreamer since I was a little girl. When I was little I loved the Walton's-needless to  say my dream then (get this now): was to be a writer, movie star, have 7 kids and live in a big house in the country. Uh huh...yup; unrealistic; but I sure loved the Walton's. Then, when I turned 12 yrs. old at church camp the Lord called me into the Mission Field. When I turned 14 yrs. old, the Lord gave me a heart for India; and was blessed with the opportunity of going there as well. ...
