RESTING OUR THOUGHTS UPON HIM

I recently heard fellow missionary, Larry Weil say this as he began his prayer; "Lord we rest our thoughts upon You."
Isn't that beautiful, and settles our spirit to where we need to be?
To 'rest' means to "cease from work, movement and recover strength, and also to stay in a specified position."
Rest is also identified with the word- 'RELAX' which means to become loose, less firm and milder manner.

WOW!
Stop here right now, meditate on the definitions stated. How do we cease our thoughts from working or moving? And even keep them in a specified position. And for our thoughts to be less firm and milder?  Lord help us to cast our thoughts and cares upon You!
Thoughts are ideas and opinions all produced by thinking. So, thinking is our mind producing our opinions.
{A Simple}
FORMULA HOW TO REST OUR THOUGHTS UPON GOD.
1.) Find a quiet place.
Jesus said; "Come unto me and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28
"Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get rest." Mk. 6:31,32
"In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both lie down and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust." Ps 4:8

2.) Lay the past and future down.
"...one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind..." Phil. 3:13b
"Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past..." Is. 43:18
"...do not worry about your life, …" Matt. 6:25-34

3.) Breathe in the Lord's Presence and Lift Up Your Voice in Praise
"But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel." Ps. 22:3
"...In Your presence is fullness of joy; …" Ps. 16:11b
"And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.” Ex. 33:14
"But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, ..." Ps 73:28

4.) LEARN HIM...KNOW THE 'ONE' WHO GIVES YOU REST!
"You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both [inclination and character]," Is 26:3a

[these spiritual truths] "...revealed them to infants [to new believers, to those seeking God’s will and purpose]." Matt. 11:25-26
"My presence will go with you and I will give you rest."
THIS PAVES A WAY FOR....
*PEACE
*POWER
*PURPOSE
*VISION
*NEWNESS
Note the story of Paul and Silas in prison; singing praises to their God in Acts 16. Power, deliverance and purpose came as they were delivered out.
As our thoughts...REST ON HIM; it -
*REFRESHES   *RECHARGES & *REVIVES!!!

HOW DO WE BECOME 'WORN OUT' & 'FRUSTRATED'?
We leave God out of our thoughts (& ways).
-quote: "Work from rest, NOT for rest." M. Bollenger
"Rest in work is partnering with God to what God is calling you to do, ..."
REMEMBER: 'God rested' after the creation!
Ps. 91 expresses on dwelling on the secret places , abiding under His shadows.
This calls for faith in the One we love; Heb. 4:13 'We who have trusted are entering into that rest...'

STAY AWAY FROM THE DEADLY D'S (quote from unknown author)
-Doubt
-Discouragement
-Defeat
-Despair
These are poison to our souls, as well as our minds!

Let's pray:
'Heavenly Father, we rest our thoughts on You now. Thank You for carrying us and aligning our lives to Your Ways. Cleanse our minds and hearts; we ask now that we are ONE WITH YOU...as this begins a newness in our thought life. I pray for peace of mind to all who are agreeing with me now. To God be praised forever!' ~amen

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                                             MINI GIFTS WRAPPED IN A HANKIE Pocket knife, Voice of the Martyrs Pendant  & candy! Al

LET US TRUST THE PROCESS OF PRUNING

Did you ever read this verse in John 15:2 and think, "that's extreme, can't we just hold onto these extra branches that grew once and bore amazing, fruit?" I have definitely !   Then life happens! In that life, we make a decision to dig deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Yet, as we do, we face obstacles (or that's what we called them) that challenged us to trust Jesus to do what He wills in our lives.  I believe this place is a milestone in the timeline of our lives. Will we continue to walk ever so close to the Lord, realizing as we do, He will prune us? Will we desire to be producers of His fruit and life flow through us? Many of us realize that this means more obstacles, cuts, bleeding, times of dormancy and simple hurt.  This is when the milestone comes; will we accept this pruning and be fruitful or just become branches that become brittle, and ragged?  A lot of questions to ponder, but I feel God wants to use each and everyone of His children in o

Thank You For Asking

(c)Daneille Gray Snowden 2022 Today, I was deeply touched in my heart when a dear friend asked how my husband was. I did not mention it first, out of the blue; she asked about something dear to my heart. This wasn't the first time as she has  asked about different matters in my life several times. May I tell you how that made me feel? It made me feel cared for, loved and set back how someone cares intensely about me and my life. How often do you personally experience such care and interest from others? And, as I ask myself this too; how often do we reach out and ask others how they are? When people as a whole reach out in such a way, we see the creation power of God as hearts are connected to one another and a strong foundation is beginning to be built for a lasting relationship.  I love it when I hear conversations in church  or in my home when I  listen to their questions of wanting to learn of others situations, experiences, needs and even joys. The questioner is totally focused
