When Peter Sank

When Peter Sank
Revelation from God to Daneille

I have been feeling overwhelmed regarding the suffering my family is going through & believe me, it’s serious! In that, I have felt myself sinking.

The scripture in Matthew 14:28-32, tells the story of when Jesus replied to Peter to come out onto the stormy sea WITH HIM!

“And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." 29 So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

Many times, we look at this story as an ultimate failure in Peter’s life.
But was it?
How many of us today…
1. Get out of the boat…
2. Walk with Jesus on the stormy water…
3. Then are overcome by the loud stormy sea…
4. And then, sink???
5. Yet: not so deep that we are not able to yell out; “Lord, save me!”
6. For you see, Peter was with Jesus, His eyes were beholding his Lord!
7. Peter wanted to walk with Jesus on the stormy sea!
8. And Peter did walk with Jesus!
9. Peter, like many of us do become distracted and overwhelmed.
10. Yet still, Peter cried out to Jesus!
11. And he still walked on the sea!

JESUS WANTED MORE FOR HIM! AND HE WANTS MORE FOR US TOO!

Jesus said, “Oh ye of little faith!” Yet, if anyone of us today, literally walked on a stormy sea. Many would say, “Wow, that’s amazing!”
But, Jesus wants more than amazing for us! He wants us to be full in every plan and purpose He has for us -TO CHANGE THE WORLD! Now, that's more than simply walking on water!

He knew the plans and purposes he had for Peter by even changing his name from meaning someone small (in the eyes of man), to becoming a large foundational rock! The storms, and his closeness to Jesus, made Peter a pillar in the church of Jesus Christ. "And many were added to the church."
Acts 2:41-47

"Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all."

God has many great plans for us. We cannot condemn ourselves when we go as far as climbing out of the boat and yet sink in our own stormy sea.
We can learn!

AND...

As Peter, we must move on and walk with Jesus continually in more faith and more power!

Right now, we cry out, “Jesus save me!”
And then, we now walk on the stormy sea with Him!

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES

7 FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHURCHES Out of desperation creativity is birthed. I hope to add on to this post through the years. Churches love to give to dad's on Father's Day; sometimes this can be redundant and or expensive. A few short years ago we stepped out of the Evangelistic & Pioneer work to take a small church that is just great and out of the box. So, of course budget is minimal and I am 'it' when it comes to holiday decor and gifting ideas & doing them. The 4 gifts that my family and I put together are as follows:                       POPCORN/CANDY/MOVIE  We placed microwave popcorn, candy bar and a special Father's Day poem inside a popcorn bag.  FRAMED ART FROM LOCAL ARTIST/MINISTER  (Rev. Paul Gray)  MADE THIS INTO A FRAME & ADDED A PEN.                                             MINI GIFTS WRAPPED IN A HANKIE Pocket knife, Voice of the Martyrs Pendant  & candy! Al

BRINGING PEACE TO YOUR HUSBAND

Two posts (blogs) ago I said I would continue to look at attaining true peace in our lives. [Sweet Tranquility] Then I promised you that I would continue to expound on having this peace spread through out our home beginning with ‘we’ ladies being the vessel of peace for our husbands.  As I have prayed over this, studied it in God’s Word and in other resources for quite awhile…my ending prognosis is that this study could continue for decades! Peace ; we pray for peace, it's our New Years Resolutions ...it is a salutation in most countries. Yet, everywhere we turn we only observe fruits of turmoil (opposite of peace).  In three thousand  three hundred and fifty years between 1500 B.C. and 1850 A.D. there were only 286 years spent without a war taking place on the globe somewhere. That's thirteen years of war for every year of peace. At that same period of time eight thousand peace treaties were broken.  Today;  2 million couples have used a lethal weapon on their spouses

Living the Dream

I have probably one of the most 'spiritual' face book home pages around. My friends post scriptural banners, quotes, prayer requests & praises . I usually get a great up-lift reading my face book. Recently, it seemed many were writing about 'Dreams'. One really jumped out; basically they were challenging the thought (I believe fact) dreams are every day; what we are experiencing today, which is our family, friends, experiences, work, ministry and prayer times. I have always been a dreamer since I was a little girl. When I was little I loved the Walton's-needless to  say my dream then (get this now): was to be a writer, movie star, have 7 kids and live in a big house in the country. Uh huh...yup; unrealistic; but I sure loved the Walton's. Then, when I turned 12 yrs. old at church camp the Lord called me into the Mission Field. When I turned 14 yrs. old, the Lord gave me a heart for India; and was blessed with the opportunity of going there as well.
