BEING STILL

BEING STILL  Lately, several good people have shared with me, a deep heart desire for their lives as they are approaching 2012. The common denominator is a desire to slow down; by getting their priorities in order and just to do less. Yet, what will be done will be accomplished with more substance.    The life Jesus lived on this earth proved that taking life 'one step', 'one day' and even 'one soul' at a time will reap eternal rewards; bringing all the glory to God. Yet, the lives we live today have seemingly taken a turn to: "The busier the more successful we must be." We have adopted this exhausting philosophy into our lifestyles. What is the end result?   “The Chinese word for “busy” is made of two characters.  The first is  heart,” and the second is “killing.”  For the Chinese, to be busy is to kill the heart." [Dr. T. Dukes]    Sensing the leading of the Holy Spirit in the lives of God's children, I personally can see God callin

Be It Unto Me According To Your Word

"And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her." Luke 1:38 When I ponder on that moment when the angel Gabriel visited this young woman (to me a child)--my heart cannot fathom how her little soul must have felt and how her mind must have swirled.  Here she is, obviously a good kid; hard working and sweet natured that it made a great impression on Joseph's father to pay her dowry. Chapter 1 of Luke reveals to us a bit of her lovely character. She had found favor with God! So much so, she was chosen to be conceived by the Holy Ghost...and be one with perfection-Jesus Christ Himself. She was chosen to carry out God's Promises by laying her life down and allowing God to have His perfect plan unfold within her life-LITERALLY!  Please recall that in this culture; as Mary was 'espoused' (engaged), this meant she was to have absolutely NO sexual intercourse until she a

Reward in Life

Indulge me as I share a quote that strikes at the core of the soul: "We're not going to be rewarded for being successful.  We will be rewarded for being faithful." Rev. Paul F. Gray   No matter what we do or not...there is promised a reward. We do determine what reward we are reaching for; being it monetary, physical, emotional, social and then spiritual. What we invest in the most is where the reward usually comes in...correct?    Is this it? Our hope for life? Are we going about this LIFE that was given to us with the right directive?   Maybe we need to think not only about the reward, but take notice on; WHO is going to give us this reward? Will this reward just reflect ME and stop right at my feet or will my rewards continue on for the generations? One more question; what is the motive that even motivates us to attain the rewards we long for?   Contemplating all of this (if allowed) can move our spirits, bringing us hopefully to a place of total surre

Families Bringing Glory to God

[This is from Mom's Praying For the Generations blog.]      Prayer: Families Bringing Glory to God Today in church my husband and I taught that in Christian lives our ultimate goal is for Christ to gain ALL the glory. Differing from the worldview here in American and all across the globe, where 'I' get's the glory. This Thursday, families are coming together to eat, play, laugh and simply enjoy one another. Now is the time to give glory to God within our families. Our prayer this period is for FAMILIES LIVING THEIR LIVES TOGETHER-ULTIMATELY BRINGING GLORY TO GOD!   When this happens, people see Jesus and desire Him for their lives. The most powerful witnessing tool  IS  the family. While children are still young exhibiting  the graces of our Lord people WILL take  NOTE  and start watching. When families are out in public; praying before meals, laughing and showing respect and love---many will see Jesus! In all of that God is getti

FIGHT OF FAITH

Calling all recruits... ( a   newly   enlisted   or   drafted   member   of   the   armed   forces)! God is looking for men, woman & children who want to be actively fighting the fight of faith! Come one, come all--join God's Glorious Army!  Do you remember a song sung by the group Acappella called; Army of the Lord ? I loved listening to it when I was a freshly graduated Bible school student, just married my soul mate and we were going out together to FIGHT for God and win great victories! Oh yea...we were pumped! Then life happened. As it did, we became a bit on the tired side, and yes SIR-very weary in battle.   Today, in this  millennium, the meaning of fighting the fight of faith has been morphed into a pansy-wansy-wimpy Christian life style. When God needs His soldiers, majority are not in the FIELDS OF WAR...or in other terms the fields needing to be harvested. They are many at the M.A.S.H. units being nursed and healed back to health after being wounded.

MOVE THAT STONE! A Prophetic Word for the church today.

The Lord's Presence is just wonderful to bask in as we set aside some time to really dig in, worshiping at His feet. Just a few moments ago as I was seeking the Lord; just hungry for Him and interceding for others I clearly heard this message from Him.  These are His Words...His Heart; yes-this is a prophetic word from God. I ask you open up your spirit to hear what He is saying to His people! There has been a drought all across the lands  (I am writing this parentheses statement in the summer of 2012; we are in...they say in the news the worse drought in the United States History in 50 years). [As well as they stated on weather.com worse large scale disaster in the U.S. history.] In the souls of people. For far too long; the heart of man’s appetite has been thirsty for the things of this world that has only depleted him and not made him into what created man to be. I said in the last days that I would send a latter day rain…one that will make a new land. Hearts must be o

DESPERATE ENOUGH TO PRAY!

"And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:" Daniel 9:3 It's time  NOW...we have no more time but to...PRAY! It's a busy world we live in isn't it? Personally, my family and I have somewhere to go and something to do at a continual basis.  We are WORE out! I look at my husband who is a father of 3, Pastor, owns his own Carpentry/Roofing business, in the Ministers Alliance, and an Area Director for the Voice of the Martyrs- I see before me an exhausted man. Yet, like everyone else we can't stop going! ...OR CAN WE? The Lord is calling His Children to;  "come and dine", "seek till you find me" , "cry out to me!" 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and  seek   my face  and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
