PRAYING THROUGH - 2014 to 2015

PRAYING THROUGH -  2014 to 2015    by Daneille Gray Snowden     I just recently asked my friends what their traditions were for New Years Eve. and Day. I just Love hearing what families do on this  day.   Of course, it caused me to ponder back regarding New Years  as a child and a pastor's wife.     I recall year after year as a Pastor's kid attending church, there would be singing and t hen challenging preaching. As the clock ticked away, midnight was quickly prancing upon us. Several minutes till; all t he individual families would gather hands and PRAY-IN the New Year.   My entire life I have done this with my parents, later my husband and now my children. Thanking God, we have never missed a year. Even when Y-2K came...(ya know, when the world was going to end).   I saw this with such deep conviction and heart. Praying, hand in hand with my loved one's symbolized what my life's vision: ' IS' ! 1st - Serving God, Seeking Hi

God's Word Not Violated

God's Word Not Violated Or Not Transgressed by Daneille Gray Snowden Transgress: to   violate   a   law,   command,   moral   code,   violate,   etc.; Psalm 89:34   "My covenant I will not violate, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips." We hear and see God's Word and even His Name being violated on a second by second basis in this world. Especially in our media; i.e. t.v. shows, news, music and social networks.  The other night, I was in a separate room from my family as I heard a t.v. show that we frequently watch in the back ground. We had even seen this certain episode before; yet listening and not watching it caused my stomach to curdle and my spirit to grieve. It was going on and on about not just homosexuality, but certain acts of it almost in detail. [It was turned off too!] Growing up not just in a godly home, but as well in a pastor's home my heart and mind has been filled with God's Word. Knowing

UNCOMPROMISINGLY RIGHTEOUS

UNCOMPROMISINGLY RIGHTEOUS by Daneille Gray Snowden Nov. 4, 2014   As I shared a particular passage of scripture today with my facebook friends, this revelated into my soul! Two words that have been lost in the shuffle of our culture (compromise & righteous), and it seems as we stop to evaluate those around we see the battle of uncompromising God's standard of righteousness is waning. Today, this world needs: stubborn (YET LOVING) Christians, raising the standards high and not backing down, although they feel more and more alone in the fight. Unfortunately, it does at times feel as if it is a fight. The Word of God says "...we war not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." [ Ep. 6:12 ] Uncompromising :  making no concessions; inaccessible to flexible bargaining; unyielding, undeviating Righteous : morally right or jus

Snowden Family's Fave' Recipes - Green Chili Enchilada Soup

Snowden Family's Favorite Recipes    Green Chili Enchilada Soup     I simply avoid sharing recipes, just because I truly know there are many out there that are far superior than mine. Yet, our family has become true 'FOODIES' thus we are quite particular on what we eat, and how we prepare it. Guess it's the day we live in. When I was a little girl; I had no idea what ethnic restaurants were. Taco's were what mom made on Friday nights as she mixed instant seasoning in her ground beef and she fried the corn tortilla's in her skillet. It wasn't until college that my pallet would dive into a sea of unforgettable flavors; thus, me turning from a bland cooking scheme to a bask array of culinary delight! Our family; like so many American families have their 'Go-To' favorites that are a must at least on a monthly basis. It's those meals you fix when your son or daughte

ENCOURAGE

Look at this word; ENCOURAGE with me....  EN: means 'to put into'  // COURAGE: mental or moral strength. The entire word, ENCOURAGE: to make (someone) more determined, hopeful, or confident, to give help AND I LIKE THIS:  to inspire with courage, spirit, or hope. To encourage is to inspire with HOPE. Encourage requires an ENCOURAGER...right? We all need encouragement almost daily. Yet, we also need to encourage...daily. It gives life, by spreading HOPE. Sometimes, those who we could never imagine needing help are the very one's who need it. You may ask; how can I give HOPE when I myself don't have it? I'll tell ya, (from experience) -- BY GOING TO THE ONE WHO INSPIRES, WHO GIVES LIFE AND HOPE CONTINUOUSLY- JESUS! King David in I Sam. 30:6 was quite discouraged, he was the one always encouraging others --now he was facing a true hopeless situation. Yet: "... but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God." My friend, go to the Lord...every day; H

TO MY FRIENDS ALL OVER THE WORLD sharing a simple note to you.

Greetings Readers!   I am doing something this time I don't think that I have done before; that is just write what's on my mind. As late as it is right now, that might not be too much. :) I have been working on my different Blogs when I  noticed I get 'hits' from all over the world. I envy my blog being avowed the opportunity to visit Cyprus, Spain, France, Germany, even Russia among many many more amazing countries. I can feel the warm Mediterranean Breeze blowing on my blog with a tint of saltiness...ahhh it smells heavenly.   From when I was old enough to THINK I always dreamed of travelling. I even thought that one day I would live in foreign countries as a missionary. My degree is in Missions, studying foreign cultures was a 'lift' to my spirits. I would even now, with my family love to travel and visit my friends from all over. It was just be a thrill getting to know you and your families by teaching me your ways of living; as I would eat new foods

HOW TO RESPOND TO GOSSIP?

HOW TO RESPOND TO GOSSIP?  {When one is speaking it to you and or about you and if it is you.} http://theabujainquirer.com/17/cartoon-people-gossiping   Maybe plug your ears and go blah, blah, saying; "I can't hear you." Um, no --- just gently say; "I am sorry, let's just change the subject please; this individual isn't here and I am not comfortable talking about him or her."   If it continues, firmness is a must --- but I am of the belief we can still be gentle. Tell the person chattering; "Since so-n-so is not here, I think we need to let them in on this conversation or stop talking about them all together."   Sometimes, the painfulness of gossip is being the one talked about, as well as the other person listening allowing the strife to be poured into their soul.   Gossip has been legitimize under the disguise of a prayer request, or someone saying they are concerned about an other or sharing they have been hurt by this perso

A Letter To My Persecuted Brothers & Sisters in the Lord

A Letter To My Persecuted Brothers & Sisters in the Lord http://horizonweekly.ca/news/details/38406 Dearest Brothers & Sisters ;   I need to tell you, that my heart is breaking when I see and hear of the pain, sorrows and deprivation you are facing. Hearing your stories and seeing your faces has stilled my soul. The things I have been facing in life (which are difficult) seem so very insignificant when I see your pain.  In my greeting, I called you brother and sister; for truly you are. We are united by the Blood of our Saving Lord and King. As the writer of Hebrews shares with a great heart;  " Remember those who are in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are ill-treated, since you also are liable to bodily sufferings." [ Heb. 13:3 ]  You are suffering, unjustly for sure. Many around me are very angry, which is completely understandable.  Yet, I hear you say that though it's been hard, "You forgive your persecutors

THE CALLING OF THE FATHER: Being the Priest of His Home

THE CALLING OF THE FATHER: Being the Priest of His Home                                                                                                                   By Daneille Gray Snowden June 2014 I love watching my husband playing with my children. He seems to be the 'fun' parent. The kids giggle the hardest and run the fastest when daddy is there. Another thing that I just LOVE; is when my husband rises up and teaches God's living word in deed and instruction. My children quickly hush and peer into the eyes of their father as He instructs them from the passages of the Bible.  Sunday being Father's Day, we will be ministering about the role of a father as the Priest of his home. Praying that the vision our God projected in both the Old and New Testament be perceived by all the Father's attending. This is the KEY we believe for healthier families, stronger churches and a godly country. When our men rise up and be all what God created them to be

Is It Obvious Where You Have Been?

IS IT OBVIOUS WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN? By Daneille Gray Snowden    Picture this, someone knocks on your door and you open it; your visitor see's you covered with flour-her first remark is; "I see you are cooking!" Not only does she know what your are doing, and also where you were, she then likely knows what you are fixing for dinner.       It has happened to me more times than I can count and it was either a pie, chicken-n-noodles or some type of bread. I am quite talented in basking myself (literally) in what I am doing.     As a Christian, (which is one who is to be Christ-like) we are to be LIGHTS in this Dark world. We are to shine Hope, Help and Love to all who are in our path. The question is; are we? My devotions brought me here today, I was reading Oswald Chambers in his book My Utmost for His Highest (April 22). I have read in the past his life story, thus my respect for his words (in his wife's pen) speak deeply. Today's devotion was called
